Overview

Introduction

Current fire safety legislation requires a risk-based regime in organisations with a nominated competent person overseeing fire safety management – Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for England and Wales/Fire (Scotland) Act 2005/Northern Ireland Fire Safety Regulations 2010.

This prestigious course has been designed specifically for individuals employed in a wide range of industrial and commercial backgrounds in both public and the private sector and organisations who require in-depth, practical training in fire risk assessment.

This course ensures that on completion delegates feel competent and confident to carry out fire risk assessments, produce fire safety reports and fire emergency plans of small to medium size premises in line with current legislation.

About the course

A highly practical 5 day in-depth course with multi-media presentations, working on plan drawings and practical exercises, using software and laptops; held on a public or in-house basis for up to 12.

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates can apply for Fire Technician Grade with the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) leading to the TIFSM professional fire safety qualification subject to validation.

This course forms the first part of the Fire Manager Course (9 day) giving delegates the opportunity, at a later date, to enhance their knowledge and to be able to apply for Associate Grade with the IFSM or Fire Technician Grade with the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) subject to validation by enrolling on the Managing Fire Safety Course (4 day).
